Southern California's High Altitude Multisport Challenge

 

A challenge like no other-

From Winter to Fall 2010, challengers will take on a wild and fun adventure that will both grow and challenge your mental strength and physical abilities. Participants will complete all four of this year's selected outdoor competions in Big Bear. In 2010 we have Conquer the Bear and Conquer the Bear Elite, making Conquer the Bear a fun challenge for all levels of competitors. Just choose how you want to Conquer the Bear. The top male and female who Conquer the Bear in the Elite category will split a $1000 cash prize.

It goes like this...

Challenge #1 - a snowy intro

The 3rd annual Snowshoe the Bear 5k or 10k challenge. Demos, cash prize, live music, pre/post race party. It's certain that the 2010 event will be one of the biggest snowshoe competitions in the U.S. Saturday February 6, in the Village of Big Bear Lake, competitors will embark on a snowy 5k or 10k course. Conquer the Bear challengers must complete minimally the 5k event and Elite Challengers must complete the 10k event. www.snowshoethebear.com

Challenge #2 - what goes up must come down

Next up, choose your category and complete the June 20 US Cup National XCT Mountain Bike event hosted by Team Big Bear. This National event is sure to draw the nation's best cyclists and make for a memorable experience. Big Bear's infamous singletrack combined with some high altitude climbing will create a challenge to meet every skill level. Conquer the Bear Challengers must minimally complete the Category 3 short course and can choose any longer category. Elite Challengers must complete the Expert or Pro Category course. www.teambigbear.com

Challenge #3 - the perfect storm

Your next challenge is the 3rd annual Big Bear PaddleFest - a weekend long kayak, canoe and SUP event with vendors clinics and demos that culminates on Sunday with a 5k,10k or 30k (complete lap around Big Bear Lake) kayak and canoe competition. Conquer the Bear Challengers must minimally complete the 5k course and Elite Challengers must complete the 30k course. Competitors can use canoe, kayak or SUP. It all happens July 10 and 11 at Captain John's Fawn Harbor in Fawnskin on the North Shore of Big Bear Lake. www.bigbearpaddlefest.com

Challenge #4 - it's a wrap

And Finally, The B I G G I E - Endure the Bear - Endurance Trail Run on September 11. The end of your challenge will be to complete the Endure the Bear Trail Run. Big Bear trail running offers the toughest challenge of the year. Combine high altitude, and big hills and you'll find a course that challenges every level of runner at every distance. Conquer the Bear Challengers must complete at minimum the 5k fun walk. Elite Challengers must complete the 30k course. Challenge #4 will definitely thin out the field of Conquer the Bear challengers. Challenge the Bear and you are in for great perks. You'll receive VIP treatment at every event, discounts on lodging, and restaurants, start-line call-ups and more.

Conquer the Bear and you'll be famous. You will receive a very special Conquer the Bear package that will have you styling and claiming your bragging rights wherever you go.

The overall elite champions will be the man and woman who Conquer the Bear in the least combined time and these two champions will share $1000 cash prize.
